Yesterday a traditional wedding was held in Qiantong ancient town, the bride wearing a crown and cape sitting in a sedan chair, followed by boxes of red lacquer dowry carved with dragons and phoenixes. The wedding reproduced the traditional wedding customs in Ninghai including the sedan chair, procession around the ancient town, worshiping the heaven and earth, picking the wedding handkerchief. As a national intangible cultural heritage, wedding customs have long been passed down in Ninghai and other areas in eastern Zhejiang.
